Summer is right around the corner.  Many colleges and other organizations offer great summer programs for high school students.  Binders with information can be found in the Guidance Office.  Sample programs are listed on our Summer Programs webpage.

National Young Leaders Conference

This conference is an intensive and stimulating leadership program used to examine the concept of leadership through a variety of educational experience.  Students assume the roles of government officials to enhance critical thinking and gain an understanding of the complexities of public policy.  For more information you can go to: http://cylc.org/nylc/

 

People to People

This opportunity is for students to join others as they develop leadership skills and personal contacts with some of the world’s finest leaders.  This year’s Leadership Summit includes Laura Bush (Former First Lady), Colin Powell (65th Secretary of State), and Ari Fleischer (White House Press Secretary). National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine

This program is a 10 day program designed for those students interested in the health care professions.  Students get the change to listen to professionals in the field as well as job-shadow and interact with them at various medical centers and hospitals renowned for their research and advancement in the world of medicine.  More information about the program and scholarship opportunities can be found at www.nylf.org
