VSAC Workshops
One of the many strong partnerships the Guidance Office works with is the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC). Their goal is to provide grants, loans, scholarships, career and education planning, and general information about how to get an education. Monda Kelley is the VSAC representative who comes to Fair Haven Union High and assists our students and families. She and VSAC have several upcoming events helpful for attending college that are notable:
VSAC Financial Aid Forms Night
Feb 8th 3:00pm to 6:30 pm – Monda will be here at FHU to review questions and forms for the financial aid process, including the FAFSA, CSS Profile and the Vermont Grant

This year students can choose between Engineering, Arts or Current Issues, or try out a brand new Information Technology track, “Augmented Reality: The Merger of Art and Technology” that will have students creating 3-D worlds online. If you are interested please come to guidance +/or apply online. The application deadline is January 20, 2012.
Attention Seniors:
*Be sure you are checking application deadlines and meeting with your school counselor regularly.
*All seniors should have scheduled an appointment with their counselor and turned in the Senior Autobiography. If you have not done so, please go to Guidance and make an appointment.
Below is the form that MUST accompany each college application. Hard copies of the form are available in the counseling office. The completed college application, including application fee/waiver, should be placed in a stamped, open envelope addressed to the college. This checklist should then be clipped to the envelope and brought to your counselor at least two weeks prior to the College’s Application Deadline. To aid in ensuring that your application is received by the college, be sure to have your meet with your counselor regularly and request teacher recommendations early!
