Library & Media Center Mission Statement

The Library Media Services Department fully supports Fair Haven Union High School’s Statement of Purpose. The Library Media Services Department feels that its program should be inspired and informed by the school’s Statement of Purpose and that our efforts should be directed toward meeting the goals outlined in that document.

In particular, the Library Media Services Department is committed to:

  • Promoting in all students the knowledge and skills necessary to become independent thinkers and responsible, productive citizens.

  • Providing an atmosphere in which the quest for excellence and creativity will flourish.

  • Encouraging the development of life-long learners.

  • Providing students with the skills that will enable them to appreciate and take advantage of diversity in a multicultural world.

As the pace of technological change accelerates, the Library Media Services Department feels a particular sense of urgency about the need to continually reevaluate its program to ensure that it provides the students of Fair Haven Union High School with the tools they need to become literate, productive members of “The Information Age.”

Phyllis, I hope you remember my being at the high school about 3 weeks ago on Sept 28. I was there with Pat and Justine Goodrow. Pat wanted to look at the Class of 1967 yearbook and get copies of a few pages. Well, Pat was looking for Marlene Godfrey who came from Castleton. Marlene was married a couple of times, we know, but where she is now is the question. Pat and Marlene were best friends in high school and Pat asked me if I could find her. I believe Marlene graduated in 1967 and, this year they must have celebrated their 40th reunion. Do you know of anyone I could get in touch with that might have an address book from the reunion. Usually, one gets printed so that other classmates know where their friends are. Pat said that she remembered a Paula Crossman but who she is now, I wouldn’t know. I figure that who ever the organizers were might have something that would help locate Marlene. Pat said she doesn’t know anyone at the school now and I said that I certainly knew you from the past because Phil was in my class. If you can render any help, I would appreciate it. My Email address is at the top of this message. J.Pettis

Mrs. Burlette, I don’t know if you remember me or not, but I graduated from FHUHS in 2001. Each year I organized “See you at the pole”. I was wondering if Betty Russo still works at FHUHS. I am now a high school math teacher and wanted to contact her for the years she taught me. If she doesn’t, I was wondering if you knew where she went.

Also, please let Mrs. Stacey I say hi as well!

    Happy Thanksgiving! Amy Cockburn Duryea

Fair Haven Union High School, in partnership with the community, will promote in all students the knowledge and skills necessary to become independent thinkers, effective communicators, and responsible, productive citizens in the global community.
