Regular -er verbs in the present indicative

Conjugation of regular -er verbs (“second conjugation”) in the present indicative

Here are the regular endings for -er verbs in the present (tense) indicative (mode):

 SingularPlural
First Person-o-emos
Second Person-es-éis
Third Person-e-en

Thus (comer):

 SingularPlural
First Personcomocomemos
Second Personcomescoméis
Third Personcomecomen

Be Careful! It is the most natural thing in the world to vocally stress the endings above as you pronounce a new verb to help you remember the endings and to show your instructor that you know what they are. Try hard to avoid this tendency and to keep the stress in the correct location!

Fair Haven Union High School, in partnership with the community, will promote in all students the knowledge and skills necessary to become independent thinkers, effective communicators, and responsible, productive citizens in the global community.
