Conjugation of regular -er & -ir verbs in the imperfect indicative

Regular -er and -ir verbs have identical suffixes in the imperfect indicative. Here are the regular endings–note that the ‘i’ carries an accent in all forms:

	Singular	Plural
First Person	-ía	-íamos
Second Person	-ías	-íais
Third Person	-ía	-ían

Thus:

	Singular	Plural
First Person	comía – vivía	comíamos – vivíamos
Second Person	comías – vivías	comíais – vivíais
Third Person	comía – vivia	comían – vivían
