Experience of a lifetime!
Well today is the 8th of July and the days have just blurred together we are walking more and more getting up past 30k which is not as bad as it sounds. We as a group and myself individually have become much stronger. The walks are harder but we can defiantly do them with room for some enjoyment. Mr. Herren has done a good job in the planning and execution of this trip. He makes sure everyone has plenty of water and we plan breakfast and snack stops in each day to keep enough food into everyone. Besides the normal necessities Mr. Herren has done a wonderful job with the medical needs within our group. Many people have obtained blisters, along with muscle/ tendon injuries and headaches. We have made multiple stopes to the pharmacies and always have enough tape, gauze, braces, pain killers, migraine medicine, bandaids, and blister supplies. He has run into problems but has always handled them well and is willing to change plans a little to accommodate individual needs and passes. I have greatly enjoyed this trip and am very grateful I had this opportunity, I have loved what we have seen and I am exited for what is to come despite the physical requirements of this trip but I knew that was a large part of this trip from the start of the planning. As of now the Leon cathedral has been my favorite site on this trip, followed by the Burgos cathedral and I am very exited for the Santiago cathedral. The entire trip has been great but I enjoy the city life the best! There is so much to see, do and eat! Yesterday we got to see a castle which was an exiting first for me. And each day Santiago gets closer! Then we get to go back to Madrid for some much anticipating shopping!!! Right now we are actually in a cool treehouse like building that really is hard to describe but pretty awesome. Still no blisters and so far I have all my toenails, knock on wood. I think we have 7 days left till we get to santiago but don’t quote me on that, which is an amazing concept to think about and truly exiting. Again I am so glad for the opportunity to come to Spain. This trip is an experience of a lifetime.
